Connect a LinkedIn account

Add a LinkedIn account to GrabProspect with the browser extension or with its email and password, and what happens when LinkedIn asks for a code.

Updated

Quick answer

On the Profiles page, either connect the LinkedIn account signed in to your browser with the GrabProspect extension (one click, no password), or click Add profile and sign in with the account's LinkedIn email and password. During the free trial, use email and password; the extension is included with paid plans.

Each LinkedIn account you connect runs in its own signed-in browser session on GrabProspect's servers. You can connect as many accounts as your plan includes.

Option 1: The browser extension (paid plans)

The quickest way, with no password to type.

  1. On Profiles, click Get the extension. In Microsoft Edge it installs in one click from Edge Add-ons; in Chrome, follow the steps shown (see the extension page).
  2. In the same browser, sign in to linkedin.com as the account you want to connect.
  3. Back on Profiles, click Connect this browser's LinkedIn, check it's the right account, and confirm.

The page notices the extension by itself, so there's no need to reload.

Option 2: Email and password

  1. On Profiles, click Add profile.
  2. Give it a Display name (only used inside GrabProspect) and enter the account's LinkedIn email.
  3. Click Sign in on the new profile and enter the LinkedIn password.
  4. If LinkedIn asks for a code or an approval, follow sign-in codes and security checks.

Saved LinkedIn passwords are encrypted.

Free trial

During the trial, connect one LinkedIn account: the one that uses the email you signed up with, with its email and password. The extension and cookie import unlock on paid plans.

Check an account is still signed in

Click Recheck on a profile. GrabProspect opens LinkedIn for that account and confirms it's signed in, waiting through LinkedIn's in-between pages. If it isn't, the profile is marked signed out and you can sign in again.

Frequently asked questions

How many LinkedIn accounts can I connect?

As many as your plan includes, up to 1,000 in one workspace. The free trial includes one.

Is my LinkedIn password stored?

If you sign in with email and password, it's stored encrypted so the account can sign in again when needed. With the extension, no password is shared.

Can I connect a client's or colleague's account?

Yes, with their permission. They can install the extension and connect from their own browser, or enter their login and any code LinkedIn sends.
